RIGIDA
has been manufacturing high quality bicycle rims since 1908 and is now a world leader with factories worldwide. Their extensive range covers all uses from basic rims for city and leisure bikes right through to high quality lightweight rims for professional cyclists. The R&D team at Rigida have developed many technological features including

Offset Technology
The offset system offers a better distribution of the angles of the 2 spokes umbrella thanks to drilling backwardation of the offset rim. This system offers a more homogenous pull of the spokes on both sides resulting in a more stable wheel. |

Carbide Supersonic
Rigida introduces the second generation of surface coating of rims. The Carbide Supersonic is a carbide station projected on the aluminium to imbed itself into the sidewall surface at seven times the speed of sound. The phenomenal resistance to abrasion and shock results in a sidewall surface that is almost everlasting! This new generation of surface coating allows braking performances never before reached. The Carbide Supersonic coating appeals to the use of hard gum pads. |

SAT (Star Assembling Technology)
Star Assembling Technology provides an improved spoke pull distribution especially on the rear wheel. The grouping of two opposed traction spokes on a reduced rim area enables the strain to be equally balanced and provide a better parallelism of the wheel. The design of the SAT system delivers a wheel with exemplary stability under stress and reducing the risk of spoke breakage.

Rigida Safety Line
Every time you brake the rim is exposed to extreme forces. The resulting friction results in wear to the rim sidewalls. As a result of this wear, grooves appear on the sidewalls and eventually the grooves become so deep and cause the rim to weaken. At this point the rim is no longer safe to ride as at any point it could fail and break. Rigida has developed its own warning system called Internal Safety Line
The Rigida Safety Line will become visible when the rim is worn out and needs to be replaced. When you check the rim regularly, at some time you will see this Safety Line. The rim must be replaced before the bike is ridden again. The brake shoes must also be checked and if required correctly repositioned. All Rigida rims that feature the Safety Line can be recognised by a special Safety Line Sticker.
